Abstract
Postural sway in upright standing status has been applied to evaluate the aging effect and the vocational aptitude. Since postural sway has been measured in static status, it does not considered as a suitable evaluation method for the vocational aptitude. This study presents an evaluation method for the aging effect and the vocational aptitude using the tracking control by weight center movement. The target value is set to the rectangle wave to measure the smoothness and agility. 210 persons with 20-70 years of age were chosen as subjects for the experiment. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of subjects is distinctive in the control trace at object tracking rather than the postural sway measurement. Correlation analysis shows also a highly correlated among the age and the average error, the reaction time and the weight center stabilizing time. These parameters relatively reflect that the difference between the young and the elderly group as well as individual dfference of aged group. Furthermore the investigation of weight center control ability is required to apply the traclung control by the weight center movement to evaluate the vocational aptitude.
